Une myriade d’abeille est une installation sonore accompagnée d’une édition.
L’installation est la mise en présence de deux expériences qui ont des traits communs, elles se passent dans un tunnel et ont une forte dimension sonore. Le texte de l’édition pose un décor, un, tunnel d’arbre et une myriade d’abeilles. La bande son spatialisée en quadriphonie vient contredire le texte. Le son a été capté dans un tunnel également mais un tunnel construit en béton, en ville et les voitures, motos et scooters remplacent les abeilles du récit. La rencontre de ces deux énoncés produit une analogie perturbée, les deux expériences se parasitent et se questionnent.
Cette pièce est également un pied de nez aux notions de “lo-fi ” et “hi-fi ” et d’écologie sonore défendues par Raymond Murray-Schafer, auteur important pour le field recording mais dont je rejette ici le postulat de paysage sonore et de jugement de valeur dans l’écoute.

A myriad of bees is a sound installation plus a paper edition.
The installation gathers two experiences with similarities : both took place in a tunnel and have a strong link to sound. The text of the edition sets a tunnel made of trees over a road and bees buzzing inside. The quadriphonic diffusion contradicts the text. the sound was recorded in a tunnel made of concrete in a town and cars and motos replace the bees.
The meeting of those two experiences produces a disturbed analogy, the two experiences interfere and question each other.
This piece is also a thumb in the nose at the "lo-fi" and "hi-fi" and sound ecology concepts. Created in the 70's by Raymond Murray-Schafer, the important author of field recording theory whom I reject the ideas of soundscape and judgement in the act of listening.
